This year Harmony Day was held on Thursday, the 21st of March which is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Since 1999, more than 77,000 Harmony Week events have been held in childcare centres, schools, community groups, churches, businesses and federal, state and local government agencies across Australia.
Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.
On Thursday students were able to wear their own traditional dress and brought in traditional biscuits to share. In classrooms, students participated in activites and also attended a special Harmony Day parade to celebrate. Our choir visted Parque Vista Retirment Village and performed they did such a fantastic job we are so proud of all our students.
